Delete Account

This page explains how to delete your Luv or Pop account and what happens to your data when you do. For more information about how we collect, use, and retain personal information, see our Privacy Policy.
1. How to delete your account
You can delete your account directly in the Luv or Pop app:
- Open the app and go to Settings.
- Scroll to the bottom of the Settings page.
- Tap Delete account and follow the prompts to confirm.
If you are unable to access the app or need assistance, you may also request account deletion by emailing customersuccess@luvorpop.com. Please include the email address associated with your account so we can verify your identity.
2. Account deletion and subscriptions
Deleting your Luv or Pop account is separate from canceling a paid subscription. Account deletion does not cancel, modify, or end any active paid subscription you purchased through the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, or another authorized billing platform.
Subscriptions are managed through the store where you originally subscribed. If you do not cancel your subscription in that store's account settings, you may continue to be charged, including for automatic renewals, in accordance with the store's terms and our Terms of Use. To stop future charges, you must cancel your subscription separately through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, as applicable, before your next billing or renewal date.
3. What data is deleted
When you delete your account, we permanently delete your account and the personal information associated with it, including:
- Your profile information (name, photos, bio, preferences, and other profile details)
- Your account credentials and registration information
- Matches, messages, and in-app interactions tied to your account
- Other personal information you provided through the app
After deletion is complete, your public profile will no longer be visible to other users.
4. Data that remains untouched and unused
The account deletion process does not delete, modify, or purge the following categories of information. Such data will remain stored in its existing form in our systems or with our service providers:
- Analytics data previously collected and transmitted to Mixpanel and Google Firebase Analytics
- Identity verification information submitted through Veriff, our third-party identity verification provider
After your account is deleted, we do not use, access, or associate this information with your former account for operational, product, or marketing purposes. It remains untouched and unused, except where retention is required by applicable law, our agreements with service providers, or our document retention policies.
5. What data may be retained
Although we delete your account and associated personal information, we may retain certain information for a limited time where required or permitted by law, including:
- Records needed to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements
- Information related to outstanding account balances or payment disputes, if applicable
- Backup copies that are automatically purged on a rolling schedule
As described in our Privacy Policy, we are not always required to delete content you have posted, and we may retain some personal information for a limited period consistent with applicable law and our document retention policies.
6. How long deletion takes
Account deletion is processed as soon as possible. In most cases, deletion is completed within 90 days of your confirmed request. Any data we retain for legal or compliance reasons is kept only for as long as necessary and then deleted or anonymized.
